In 2008, old friends Mario Romano and Salvo Sapienza began to collaborate on remixes in their hometown of Catania (Sicily). They became well known throughout Italy for their single “La Partita Di Pallone” featuring Rita Pacone, among other numerous tracks that they worked on together.
In 2010, the duo began remixing a few tracks from Rodriguez – a Havana native who worked in Italy as a singer and dancer in various Latin clubs. The three began working together in the studio, combining forces which turned into the group “Romano & Sapienza feat. Rodriguez” – now simply known as Tacabro.
At the end of 2011, the trio produced Latin dance hit “Tacatà” which has been tearing up charts around the world since January of 2012. Since hitting the international dance music scene, the single has hit #1 spots on iTunes dance charts across Europe – including Italy, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, France and Belgium. The single is currently #86 on the YouTube world chart and still growing – turning into a massive global hit for the trio.
